This year's Scotland Summer Camp show title is: The Vampire Hunters of Glasgow
Thursday 23rd September, 1954. Glasgow.
Following a mysterious disappearance in the local area, word spreads in Glasgow that whoever is responsible is hiding in a deserted victorian cemetery. A rumour is circulating is that it’s a vampire! Surely it’s all nothing more than fantasy? But when local policeman PC Alex Deeprose is called out to a minor disturbance one night at the Southern Necropolis cemetery, he discovers much more than he bargained for. In the red fiery light of the nearby steelworks, he finds hundreds of fearless and determined young vampire hunters.
Based on a true story that made headlines around the world, we will explore the circumstances that led up to the event. How did the hysterica spread so quickly? How did it start? Was it all just make believe...? After all, a new American comic book had only just been released, number 15 in the Dark Mysteries horror series... titled ‘The Vampire with the Iron Teeth’.
Join us as we tell the story of The Vampire Hunters of Glasgow using original songs, movement and text, to create an exciting and atmospheric new piece of music theatre.
