According to Brian Haw (2012)

by Sarah Nelson and James Atherton

4th – 17th August 2012

According to Brian Haw

2011 saw the death of Brian Haw, the extraordinary anti-war campaigner who camped outside the Houses of Parliament for 11 years in protest first at the sanctions against Iraq and then against the wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Whatever you thought of him, Brian‘s stand became a symbol for opposing views on war and retribution, the rights of protesters and the state’s right to intervene globally  in the ‘war against terror’.

According to Brian Haw explores young Britons’ and their peers in the other countries’, responses to 9/11, the war in Afghanistan and the deaths of British soldiers. Working with Brian’s son, Pete, writers James Atherton and Sarah Nelson create a new political work for YMT’s performers.
