Tim Gilvin

Tim is a composer and lyricist based near Bath. Originally from Swindon, he spent three years studying music in Birmingham before moving to London for 6 years. Musicals include Stay Awake, Jake, which won the S&S Award 2014, and the VAULT Festival Origins Award in 2016, as well as being nominated for 5 Broadway World Awards. In 2015, the song “A Bigger Smile” was performed at the Garrick (West End) as part of the shortlist for the Stiles + Drewe Best New Song Prize. As a solo artist and as part of the band Fallingham Fair, Tim has had songs played on BBC 6 Music and on Channel 4. This year, Tim has been workshopping his show Kate and the Devil at Manchester Royal Exchange, as well as completing a commission for a new musical. Tim has worked extensively as a music leader and pianist with professionals and young people alike, from teaching music in Infant Schools to working with office choirs, and he was MD in residence at Amersham College for 4 years, working on the BA Musical Theatre programme.
