Katy Ayling

Katy is a freelance dancer, choreographer and teacher based in London- her work fuses voice, music, and text with her back ground in contemporary dance and improvisation. Katy is also a qualified yoga and movement teacher frequently working with performers to facilitate an understanding and awareness of the body through movement and somatic practises.

As well as her own work Katy is a member of ‘The Sparse Collective’- a group of international dance artists who frequently work and perform together around Europe and South America.

Katy started her journey with YMTUK as a young company member and went onto the creative trainee scheme before working as a choreographer. Work with YMT includes, ‘Legend of White Bear Lake’- Barbican Plymouth, ‘Macbeth’- Edinburgh Fringe, Lyric Belfast, South Hill Park, Drill Hall, ‘Variete’- Hammersmith Studios and various Summer Skill Courses.

Performance credits include- ‘Short Stories’- Brain Child Festival 2018, ’Loserville’ Reunion Concert- Garrick Theatre 2018, Wolves Will Be Watching- Bunker Theatre Southwark and The Place Theatre.
