Auditions

Our national auditions are complete for our 2012 season and all of our shows have been cast. Bookings for next year will open in the autumn. If you would like to work with YMT this summer then perhaps you could join us for a Skills Course? Or if you play an instrument to Grade 7+ standard we are looking for musicians. You could also work on one of our shows as an ASM if you're interested in a backstage course.

2012 Auditions:

Throughout January and February YMT will be searching for around 250 of the most talented, vibrant and energetic young performers, musicians and stage managers aged 11-21 to join our national company. We devise and commission brand new musicals every year, and you could be part of that creative process, gaining a unique residential training experience. Our professional directors, composers and choreographers work all over the world and we stage shows at some of the most respected theatre and arts festivals in the country.

If you're looking for a unique way to spend your summer, come along to one of our workshop auditions to be in with a chance of joining the cast of a YMT production. You'll stay in residential accommodation whilst rehearsing, so you could have the opportunity to travel to somewhere else in the country and make friends with people from all corners of the UK - if you live in Aberdeen, you could be in a show in Leeds, or if you're from Cardiff, you could end up in Plymouth! By taking part in a YMT production, you'd be following in the footsteps of our alumni, such as Ed Sheeran, whose recent album went to Number One in the UK Album Chart, Lauren Samuels, from the BBC's Over The Rainbow, who went on to play Sandy in Grease, and is now starring in We Will Rock You, Bradley Jaden nee Wilson in Shrek, Jaygann Ayeh in Ghost the Musical, Jamie Muscato and Cordelia Farnworth in Rock of Ages and Antony Hansen in Wicked - all currently in the West End, James Gant about to tour the UK in Oliver!, Billy Cullum recently in the national tours of Spring Awakening and Godspell, Lucy Griffiths in BBC'c Robin Hood as Maid Marian and soon to star in HBO's True Blood and many more...
