Q: I really want to take part on a Skills Course if I don't get a place - but I don't want to book it in case I am offered one! What should I do?
Don't worry - if you book a place on a Skills Course, and then you are offered a place on a project, you can transfer your deposit over so you won't lose anything. Our advice would be to book a Skills Course now to ensure your chosen location doesn't fill up, then you can transfer your place over to a project if you are offered a place.
Q: What happens if I don’t get a place on a project?
We're sorry if you don't get a place. Some people are added to reserve lists in case people drop out - if this happens, we'll let you know. You should certainly consider a Skills Course - many young people who are successful at auditions have attended one or more Skills Courses in previous years.
Q: If I get offered a place on a project but the dates clash with another commitment, can I change to a different project?
You can request to change to another project, but you won't be guaranteed a place - you will have been cast on to your project for a specific reason (for example, because your skills match the piece very well). If you ask to move to another project, you will be added to a reserve list for that project. If someone then drops out, we will consider if you would be suitable to take that place.
Q: I need to book a holiday, so can you tell me the dates I should keep free in case I have a place on a YMT course?
The productions take place at different times throughout July and August - your offer letter will explain the exact dates. Unfortunately we can't give you a clearer idea of the dates to keep free until you have received this letter.
