Patrons

YMT is proud to work with, and be supported by our three patrons; Rob Brydon, Peter Duncan and Zoë Wanamaker.

YMT Patrons

Our patrons are three established figures in the arts and their continual support for YMT allows us to continue the work we do around the country.

Rob Brydon is a comedian and actor who is a well known face on British Television. His television roles include Marion and Geoff, Human Remains and Gavin and Stacey. Rob has appeared on TV shows such as QI, Big Fat Quiz of the Year and Have I Got News For You and is currently the host of BBC 1's Would I lie To You.

In 2009 alongside Ruth Jones, Robin Gibb and Sir Tom Jones, Rob reached number one in the charts with the single Islands In The Stream, in aid of Comic Relief. He also embarked on an eighty seven date tour of the UK with his stand up show, Rob Brydon Live, this included a three week run in London's West End.

Peter Duncan is a Actor, presenter, documentary maker, former Chief Scout and one time Blue Peter man whose recent work has seen him travel the globe in search of adventures. Peter began work as an actor in the 19070's and gravitated towards presenting and his passion of adventure.

Peter has had a long association with pantomime, following in his parent’s footsteps, and has played many roles including Buttons, Peter Pan and Captain Hook. Through his own production company he has staged: The Gingerbread Man, Erik The Viking, Robin Hood, Cinderella and Aladdin. This Christmas he is writing and directing Cinderella  for the Oxford Playhouse.

He often writes articles and appears in the media defending and empowering the rights of young people on subjects such as teenage pregnancy, creativity and outdoor lifestyle. He has just become Children’s Art Champion for Action for Children’s Arts and Youth Music Theatre and was given a Gold Blue Peter badge for his volunteer work with the Scouts.  Peter said of his role as YMT patron, "I'm excited to become a patron of Youth  Music Theatre. I have always been a champion of children's arts and the work they do is inspired. Just the three words together Youth, Music, Theatre are what every thriving community needs."

Her television work includes the very successful comedy drama Love Hurts, in which she starred with Adam Faith, and more recently the BBC's hugely popular sitcom My Family  with Robert Lindsay.

She made a new generation of fans when she played Madame Hooch in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in 2001.
In 2000 she was awarded a CBE. She is currently starring the critical and commercial hit drama opposite David Suchet All My Sons by Arthur Miller at the Apollo Theatre in London's West End.
